A patinated brass prismatic sighting compass, Negretti & Zambra, circa 1900, the cylindrical case with glazed sector to top panel revealing the floating dry card centred with a rose and signed NEGRETTI & ZAMBRA, LONDON within outer scale divided to half a degree, the case fitted with a hinged wire sight with integral card lock/release mechanism opposing prism eyepiece for taking readings, diameter 7cm (3ins); with original leather outer travelling case.
TRIX TWIN 3R pre war 5/324 SR Goods Train Set containing SR 0-4-0 Locomotive and Tender no 498 (untested but appears Near Mint), SR High Sided Open Wagon, UD Green Tanker and SR Brown Brake (all Excellent), Red Button controller, wires and plugs. The Set is missing an SR Van, Red Button Controller and bottle of oil. Track was not supplied with this Set. The Box lid has tape repairs to it 2 corners and is otherwise Excellent. The base is missing a support tray and the TTR covers for the 2 large bottom trays -otherwise it is also Excellent. The Lot includes pages 3 to 22 of a pre war catalogue on new scale model locomotives designed by Bassett - Lowke and a 1953 TTR user guide.The empty trays which can be seen in the photograph were provided to accommodate track and a second TTR Set.

A George II silver shaped circular salver by John Cafe, London 1745, flat chased with a band of panels of figures, flowers, fruiting vine and a bowl and spoon divided by C-scrolls, scale and rocaille work, the raised border with a moulded rim, rocaille work and scrolls, on three hairy paw and ball feet, engraved with an armorial, 30cm (12in) diameter, 903g (29.05 oz) These arms of BLENCOWE quartering WALLESTON were first recorded in 1681 after the marriage (circa 1625) of John Blencowe of Marston St Lawrence, Northants. to Mary Walleston of Ruislip, Middx. John Blencowe was the successor-in-law to Thomas Blencowe who had been granted the manor of Marston St Lawrence in the reign of Henry VI. The parish church houses a notable Blencowe monument. By 1747 the estate had passed to a further John Blencowe who, dying unmarried, left the property to his nephew, Samuel Jackson. Jackson assumed the surname and arms of Blencowe, and his eldest son, John Jackson Blencowe, served as High Sheriff of Northamptonshire in 1827.
