A scale model of the cruiser HMS Exeter in a wooden case, measuring 84 by 14 by 28cm. HMS Exeter was launched in 1929 and commissioned in 1931, and was instrumental in damaging the pocket battleship Graf Spee during the Battle of the River Plate when she was also severely damaged, and then repaired in the Falkland Islands HMS Exater went on to the Far East and was sunk following a Japanese torpedo attack on 1st March 1942.
