19th century serpent necklace, the head set with old cut diamonds on a ground of blue guilloche enamel the eyes of cabochon garnets, articulated scale body to an enamel clasp, unmarked gold, length 39 cm , in fitted box by Howell James of Regent Street Provenance; Collection of US President Grover Cleveland (1837-1908) (in office 1885-9 and 1893-7) and his descendants. He was the only President to serve two non-consecutive terms of office. Including some of his wife's jewellery (Frances Folsom), and silver. Acquired from two of the President's grand-daughters, Marion Frances (Daniel) nee Bosanquet, (1919-2016) and her sister Philippa Ruth (Foot) nee Bosanquet, by bequest and gift. Their mother Esther was the only child born at The White House to a serving American President.
James Smetham (British, 1821–1889) Geese in a landscape signed lower left "J Smetham" oil on canvas 30 x 47cm (12 x 18in) Provenance: Presumably Christie's, 25th July 1975, lot 10 Other Notes: James Smetham was an English Pre-Raphaelite painter and engraver, close to Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Smetham was born in Pateley Bridge, Yorkshire, and attended school in Leeds. He studied at the Royal Academy in 1843 and painted romantic visionary works, generally on a small scale. His work is in the Tate, the National Portrait Gallery, the Ashmolean and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Stencil number : 314 WW Oil on canvas which has been lined. The painting is stable and secure. There is extensive overpaint across the surface which is well matched to the original. The glazing is very dirty inside and out. One of the glazing spacers has come loose. The decorative surface of the frame is in a good condition.

The crew consisted of Frank Borman, James Lovell and William Anders. The patch for the Apollo 8 mission bearing their names can be found at the 9 o'clock position on the dial of this watch. In 1997 Omega celebrated 40 years of the Speedmaster by releasing the Missions Series. This consisted of 22 Speedmasters featuring the logos of NASA's famous space missions and a re-edition of the original moonwatch.

A Regency mahogany bracket clock, brass inlaid, marked "Deayton" and with partially engraved backplate, two-train striking movement. Height including finial 57.3 cm, case with 28 cm, dial diameter 20 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds on both trains and the clock is currently ticking away. It strikes when advanced. The dial is in untouched original condition. It has craquelure to the paintwork and small chips around the winding apertures. There are also one or two larger scratches through the paintwork. The glass and brass bezel are in good order. The case itself is in generally good condition with only minor small veneer losses and stress fractures. The feet are original and in good order. There are some nibbles to the veneers around the fish scale brass sides and rear door.
