A map of the County of Derby, from an actual survey made in the years 1824 and 1825 by C. & I. Greenwood dedicated to the Nobility, Clergy and Gentry of the County, inset of Chatsworth House, coloured engraved folding map in sections on paper and linen, marbled end papers, 154cm x 122cm, in slip case. The above map is one of a series of all England & Wales surveyed from scratch by Christopher & John Greenwood from 1818 to a scale of 1 inch:1 mile (except Yorkshire which was reduced to .75 ins.:1 mile to get it all in). It took until 1834 to complete, and a comprehensive atlas was then produced, although individual maps were published (as here) as they came out. The two worked in opposition to the OS and completed their survey a lot quicker, their counterparts taking until 1873.

A superb scale model of one of only two remaining airworthy examples in the world. The model`s certificate has been especially autographed for this auction by the current Memorial Flight crew. Mint boxed as new. Brief History.PA474 originally from 82 Squadron, survived the hostilities as she was commissioned just as the war in the far east had ended. The aircraft was therefore assigned photographic reconnaissance duties in South Africa. Having survived for 18 years it was brought home to be adopted by the Air Historical Branch in 1964 and to go on display at the proposed RAF museum at Hendon."City Of Lincoln" as she is commonly known, underwent a refit in 2000 and was repainted as "Mickey The Moocher" serial EE176 "QR-M" of 61 Squadron. By 2006 she had received another major overhaul and in 2007 was renamed "Phantom of the Ruhr" serial EE139 of No.550 squadron."Phantom of the Ruhr" was a famous aircraft with 121 operational missions and 830 hours of flying recorded. This aircraft was declared beyond repair 3 times, but was repaired and put back into operational service. Her last mission on 21st. November 1944 was a night raid on the Aschaffenburg railway marshalling yards. Squadron Leader Willie Caldow believed that the bad handling he experienced that night was due to a twisted airframe. On his return to base he instructed that the aircraft be withdrawn from operations. The "Phantom" with many other war weary sisters was unceremoniously scrapped in February 1946.
