THE FOUR COURTS, DUBLIN. RESTORATION 1926. A large blueprint, 29 x 30 ½ ins [74 x 78 cms], showing the first floor[i.e. ground floor] plan of the Courts on a scale of 16 feet to one inch, numbered 8636, dated 9-6-27, fold marks, a few small tears, some staining (no significant loss). Very scarce. The Court buildings were extensively destroyed during the occupation and siege in 1922.

A SET OF FRAMED CARICATURES, including Admiral Henry John Rous from Vanity Fair magazine's. Captioned "As straight as a Reed" the text notes that "He once brought across the Atlantic a leaky vessel without a rudder and he has carried to the Turf the same sense of purpose".appointed a steward of the in 1838, a position he held almost uninterruptedly to his death. In 1855, he was appointed public handicapper. The most remarkable handicapper the world of racing has ever known, he bequeathed as his special legacy, "The Weight-For-Age Scale". This shows the amount of improvement a young horse should make month by month over a variety of distances when pitted against his elders. With minor modifications it is still operative almost one hundred and fifty years later despite all the advances made in training methods, nutrition and veterinary care; together with nine other Vanity Fair caricatures (10) Provenance: The estate of Tony Sweeney
A late 18c English bracket clock by Baker of London, the double fusee movement having anchor escapement and striking and hour repeating on a bell. The backplate has edge engraving and is signed and the arched brass dial has a strike/silent in the arch and a date ring below the dial centre. The dial has scroll spandrels and matched steel hands and the dial centre and strike/silent rings are silvered. It is contained in a round topped mahogany case with brass carrying handles, fish scale side frets and bracket feet, it stands 16.5" tall overall.

(16cm.) high, tiny chip beneath rim of cover; two tea cups; two saucers, one with small chip to inside of footrim; a 9in. plate with silver rim; and a pair of 7½in. saucer dishes with scalloped rims, small rim chip to both.
