THREE LARGE SCALE COLOUR ENGRAVED SECTIONAL PLANS OF THE S.S GREAT EASTERN, lower sectional plan, spar deck and longitude North section. Scale 1/8th of an inch to 1 foot. Framed and glazed. 19th century. 21.5" x 92". (3). Note :- The S.S Great Eastern. She was an iron sailing ship designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel she was the largest ship ever built at the time of her 1858 launch, and had the capacity to carry 4000 passengers around the world without refueling. She was 692 feet long with a beam of 82 feet and displaced 32160tonns. She had five steam engines generating a total of 8000HP and was broken up in 1890.

The firm of Negretti and Zambra traded from 11 Hatton Gardens 1850-9. The invention of the ivory cistern float to aid calibration of the instrument is accredited to Jesse Ramsden (worked 1768-1800).. Hannah Adams inhereted the business on the death of her esteemed husband George Adams in August 1795, she continued the business until the summer of 1796, when the stock in trade of business was sold off to William Jones..
