In the Frank Herbert novels, ornithopters transported people across the deserts of Arrakis.These concept sketches of the ornithopter were created during development on Jodorowsky's unproduced adaptation by conceptual artist Ron Cobb. One features several illustrations of ornithopter machinery rendered in pencil and watercolour on graph paper, while the second features a detailed scale illustration of the vehicle and a pilot rendered in pencil on illustration paper. Both sketches exhibit minor wear along their edges and various stains to the paper. The two swords are, respectively, a to-scale and miniature version of Ramses' (Joel Edgerton) sword from the film.Both are made of resin and hand-painted, and are displayed in wooden boxes beneath acrylic lids. The gifts have some wear from use and age, including some scuffing and scratches to the display boxes, while the underside of each box features staining and adhesive remnants. Led by Prince Vultan (Brian Blessed), the Hawkmen featured throughout the film, and models were used alongside actors for scenes where the winged warriors took flight and for long shots.The model is made of dense rubber with a rubber-like skin. It features black synthetic hair adhered to the head, a detailed painted face, a complete faux-leather costume, and sandals on its feet. There is a metal armature for stability, and though this model is missing its wings, the fixing points are still present on its back. Minor grey staining, one grip scale cracked.
