Two vintage large scale model aeroplanes comprising of a World War I French American squadron Newport bi-plane, 95cm long and a World War I German Fokker mono-plane, 92cm long Both have had engine/remote control unit removed. Fokker has no propeller. SHIP FIGUREHEAD - Magnificent Early 19th c Carved Wooden Figurehead in the form of the Federal Eagle, with open beak, having scrolled shoulders, this was found in a Bath, Maine barn, is early enough and is of the scale that it is probably off a US Customs Cutter, 14" tall, 26" x 11", in remnants of the original paint, as found.
ENGLISH LADIES DESK - Late 19th c Chippendale Style Mahogany Kneehole Desk in diminutive scale, having inlaid rose compass at center of the molded overhanging top with relieved edge, shallow full width drawer over three drawer pedestals, all with beaded edge and brass batwing pulls, recessed cabinet door in kneehole has matching inlaid compass, lock and key, shallow bracket door set above, on molded bracket foot, 32" tall, 32" x 19 1/2", very good condition.

Willan (Robert). On Vaccine Inoculation, 1st edition, 1806, two hand-coloured engraved plates (water stain and some spotting), bound with at front Delineations of Cutaneous Diseases: Exhibiting the Characteristic Appearances of the Principal Genera and Species Comprised in the Classification of the Late Dr. Willan, by Thomas Bateman, 1st edition, 1817, 41 hand-finished colour plates only (plates 31-72), library stamps, light spotting, library cloth, upper joint splitting, some fading and stains, 4to. Willan followed on from Edward Jenner’s initial small scale vaccination trial and collected data, published here, based on the Rev. William Finch’s vaccination programme in St. Helens, 1799-1800, where over 700 people were inoculated. ‘Modern dermatology may be said to start with Willan. His classification of skin diseases gained him the Fothergillian Medal of the Medical Society of London in 1790. He established a standard nomenclature which is still more or less in use today’ (G-M 3985). (1)
