A scratch-built scale model of the 1943 victualing boat the "Clyde Puffer" (VIC 35). 104 cm long x 30 cm wide.Footnote: ‘VIC 32’ was built by Dunston’s of Thorne, Yorkshire in November 1943. And is still in operation, but now as a pleasure boat. AN EARLY 20TH C. ALBUM OF PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE TENTH HUSSARS, V.C. INTEREST. A collection of approximately 139 images including large scale 'official' photographs, panoramic views and smaller privately taken images in the Rawalpindi area. To include images dated between 1908 and 1910, including 'The 10th Hussars Khanna Plain 1909', 'Galloping in double echelon of Squadrons Maxims in rear of Centre', 'C Squadron May 1908' 'Qzzetta Open Polo tournament 1908', big game hunting, 'Ridding school at R.Pinidi', 'Senior Officers Musketry Course 1910' and many other images. All contained in a distressed album, photographs 8.5 x 11.5 inches and smaller. The photograph of 'C Squadron' clearly includes Sergeant Henry Engleheart (1864-1939) who won his V.C. with the 10th Hussars during the Boer War as one of a party who destroyed the railway north of Bloemfontein, whilst returning from this action Engelheart saved Sapper Webb at great personal risk from enemy fire. He received his award from Queen Victoria on 15th December 1900.

Prussian Model 1894 Pickelhaube of Garde Dragooner Regiment Nr 1 (Queen Victoria of Great Britain and Ireland), fine example for an enlisted ranks with large other ranks pattern helmet plate to the front having white metal garde star burst to the chest. Leather backed domed brass scale chinstraps leading to fixing posts, no cockades present. Squared dip front peak which is standard for Dragoon helmets, other ranks cruciform brass spike cross piece and short spike, rear spine with two fixing pins, again typical for Dragoon helmets. Interior of the helmet retains the original other ranks leather liner. Screw post fittings to the reverse of the plate with brass washers in place. Interior of the shell, behind the plate is deeply struck “LG 15”. Rear peak stamped “56”. Some polishing to the exterior fittings but overall a nice example. Old ink written collectors label attached to the chinscales.

A pair of provincial terracotta lokapala, guardians of tradition, standing with their hands held together; dressed like elite Song infantry, with long coat of lamellar armour, round helmet fitted with wings, leather padded coat with shoulder protections and scale reinforcement on the breast, sleeved tunic and thick pointed boots; traces of colour still visible.See Peers, C.J., Imperial Chinese Armies (2), 590-1260 AD, Oxford, 2002, for representations of warriors and discussion; a similar guardian warrior is visible on the Northern Song Imperial Tombs, Gongyi, Henan Province, tomb of the Emperor Zhenzong.13.7 kg total, 77cm each (30 1/4").
