Tyne and Newcastle, decorative cartouche and mileage scale, compass roses and numerous rhumb lines, some oxidisation and slight staining, one small hole in cartouche, 515 x 585mm. The map extends from Flamborough head up to the mouth of the Firth of Forth. (1)

F. Van Langren, orientated to the west, two ornate strapwork cartouches, strapwork mileage scale, compass rose and rhumb lines, old folds, toned overall, slight water staining, 390 x 560mm. Originally published in the "Itinerario`, Van Linschoten`s map is one of the most ornate and decorative maps of South America. (1)

A U.S. spirit filled alloy gauge. For indicating the pitch of an airship. Thermometer style brass scale O degrees – 40 degrees in either direction. The body marked “Karl Anderson Ithaca New York”. Plus a blackened alloy curved gauge for airship roll, scale O degrees – 20 degrees in either direction, maker’s name Elliott, with WD mark, “Made in England” and Regd. No 627956 (late 1914), 175mm overall. Together with a circular alloy quick-release catch for aircrew harness, with lever. Diameter 65mm. Paper label states “Zeppelin crewman’s buckle”. GC. (3). A fine 1:12 scale model of a James Coombes vertical single cylinder ‘Table Engine’. This working example is based on a design that was used in the Coalpitheath Colliery near Bristol up until the colliery closed in 1950. A powerful looking single cylinder machine of steel and brass construction, mounted to a substantial steel base (10 x 9.5cm) with table legs style supports connected to a ‘table top’ to support the mechanicals. The model has an overall height of 36cm to top of cylinder frame. Fitted with a large 6 spoked 18cm flywheel with power take off hub to outer edge of cam. Framework and centre to flywheel painted in maroon. Bolted to a hardboard rectangular ‘brick’ style base 38 x 18.5cm. VGC. Together with drawings. See illustration.
A substantial scale model of a single cylinder horizontal hot air engine. Steel and alloy cylinder and frame with machined parts in steel and brass. Overall length 36cm. Air cooled cylinder via 6 flutes, substantial weighted single billet machined flywheel 15.5cm, brass oil container to top of cylinder, bore 4cm, with approximately a 7cm stroke. Majority painted in dark green with outer of flywheel, chimney, etc unpainted. VGC See illustration.
A scale model of a vertical single cylinder stationary steam engine as made by Otto Deutz. This model represents the type D2 as produced from 1895. It is designed to run at 150rpm on ‘clean propane’. Painted in maroon, with brass fittings including 4 glazed oil lubrication reservoirs. The engine is fitted with a 6 spoke 20cm flywheel and has a bore diameter of 2.5cm, separate chimney in matt black, 21cm. The engine has an overall height of 26cm to the top of the flywheel. Complete and ready to run. Mounted on a wooden plinth 20x31cm. VGC Complete with paperwork and CD. See illustration.
An impressive model live steam beam pumping engine as used at Crofton in Wiltshire. A 1:20 working scale model. 68cm high, to top of red painted beam, beam measures 36cm. Mounted within a wooden framework the engine is fully fitted with valve operating gear, lower and upper valve chests, parallel motion and plug rods, condenser and air pump, etc. Cylinder height 17.5cm with a diameter of 7cm. VGC Complete with drawings. See illustration. Note: The original engine was built by Harvey & Co of Hayle Cornwall in 1846. Rebuilt with its present 42" bore cylinder in 1904. Also this engine pumped water to the summit of the Kennet & Avon Canal until 1958.
A superb 1/8th scale model by Stuart Turner of a H.A. Taylor major beam engine as used by a factory based in Bermondsey London in the 1860’s. This large powerful non-condensing heavy duty model has a beam of 38cm, tapered thick central beam support column, 6cm at base to 5.5cm at top, 6 spoked flywheel 35cm, with smaller 15cm power take off wheel. Cylinder 12.5cm with a 10cm stroke. Fitted with Safety valve, pressure valve, pump, speed governor, all of steel and brass construction, is painted in maroon overall. Fixed to a baseplate 50.5x15cm. Atop a brick style raised plinth 60.5 x20x13cm. VGC light cleaning required. Complete with drawings and paperwork. Note: Similar powerful engines of this style were used by water authorities throughout the UK during the second part of the 19th.C See illustration/front cover.

A fine scale model of the White Star liner RMS’ Titanic’. With a length of 108cm, this superbly detailed vessel displays many features of the famous Harland & Wolff built original, including ‘planked’ decking with equipment including life-boats, cranes, ventilators, stairways, capstans and detailed rigging. Each of the four funnels is equipped with a ladder providing access to the ship’s sirens. The detailed hull displays portholes, plating etc. The vessel is equipped with three propellers, rudder, and anchors to bow. Complete with a display stand. VGC. See illustration.
