(1880-1915), educated at Balliol College, Oxford, commissioned Lieutenant, 1900, served during the Boer War with the Gloucestershire Regiment, entitled to a Queen`s South Africa with four clasps, re-engaged during the Great War with the Regiment, In the early hours of 25.1.1915 the 3rd Brigade was warned to expect a large-scale German attack on Cuinchy and Givenchy. Both ÒAÓ and ÒDÓ Company were in the line when the attack began. At 07.35 hours Capt W K George and Capt H C Richmond of ÒDÓ Company were killed. Richmond is commemorated in the Guards Cemetery, Windy Corner, Cuinchy, France. A photograph of the recipient can be found on the internet. (-)

* Heinkel He-III. A fine presentation scale model of the famous war-machine of the German Luftwaffe during the Third Reich and WWII, c. 1938,hollow-form, of fabricated & welded thin steel-plate with excellent detail including nickel-plated rotating propellers, celluloid observation nacelle, cockpit and gun-turret, engine exhausts and bombs to underside, beautifully finished in period ñsplit-camouflageî light & dark green upper works and pale blue-green undersides, with distinctive Luftwaffe markings to wings and tail, on an adjustable swivel-mount above a circular black steel base, having painted inscription ñHeinkel-Kampflugzeug - HE-IIIî, w/span 30 in (76 cm) This fine model was created in the apprentice-department of the Heinkel Aircraft works, one of at least two known models, and presented to Hans Riekert in 1938, in recognition of his services to Aviation and in particular to Heinkel for research and test flying their aeroplanes. A photo-copy image of a similar presentation model accompanies this original example. Acquired at auction in London circa late 1980s, along with the preceding two lots. (1)

A rare Second World War period 1/72nd scale aircraft recognition model,the wood airframe painted all over black with original stores reference label to the hull underside, 20.5 in (52 cm) wingspan, some minor old damages, dorsal turret and propellers lacking, together with four damaged die-cast model aircraft and a Moon Probe elliptical jigsaw puzzle in box In service with the Imperial Japanese Navy 1942-1945 the `Emily` is generally recognised as the finest flying boat produced during WWII.
