Interesting early double-headed baroque style lute, the angled head with thirteen boxwood tuning pegs, the straight head with six boxwood tuning pegs and three bone nuts, the neck with ebony and bone striped back and the nine fret ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl double heart shaped inlay, the bowl back with boxwood strung inlay, the table with a further mother of pearl heart inlay, ebony and ivory inlaid rosette and decorative carved fretwork to the sound hole, within a fitted case bearing a Rushworth & Dreaper Ltd label, total length 37.5", scale length 21 5/8" (at fault)
A large Masons jug and bowl late 19th century, octagonal form, tapering neck over wide body, wavering rim, floral design to upper interior, floral and moth polychrome decoration, blue serpentine handle with gilt scale overlay, 11¼in. high, the bowl of conforming shape and decoration, 16in. (40.2cm.) diameter, jug a/f. (2) Condition: Five staple repair to bad crack on jug. Rubbing to paint on rim. No other damage or restoration noted.
Sarah Louisa Kilpack (British, 1839-1909) Fishing boats in rough seas off Le Hanois lighthouse, Guernsey watercolour, signed lower right 11 x 9in. (28 x 23in.) * This is a very unusual watercolour work by S. L. Kilpack, her usual medium being oil on card or board, and occasionally in larger scale on canvas. Condition: Small scuff to surface of paper to centre of gull at top right, and a tiny split to paper to right hand margin just to right of upper white gull. No other damage noted. In a modern gilt frame.
A Victorian mid-oak Admiral Fitzroy's Storm stick barometer by Negretti & Zambra, with mercury cistern tube, arched enamel dial with double scale, mercury thermometer to trunk, rectangular tablet cistern cover, 42¼in. (107.25cm.) high. Condition: Very original and unrestored. Oak would benefit from cleaning and polishing - polish has faded and rubbed in places. Tube, dial and thermometer in good condition, with no damage. Vernier knobs present and working. A good,, untouched example.
