A 19th century Italian walnut centre table in the Renaissance manner, the top with acanthus carved edge above a fluted frieze and two similarly decorated drawers, one to each side, raised on ornate trestle end supports decorated with central figural mask, linen and fruit and foliate drapes flanked by two lion masks within scrolling acanthus borders to scale decorated supports and lions paw feet, mounted on scrolling acanthus base to scroll feet united by a carved centre stretcher with central flower head roundel, 80 x 149.5 cm (ILLUSTRATED) £800-1200
An early 18th century brass horary quadrant by Edmund Culpeper marked with Gunter scale and shadow square, it is etched John St Alban of Alfoxton Lat 51 10 and signed Edm Culpeper Londini fecit 1710. Both sights on the right hand side are intact but the plum line, bob and case are missing. On the reverse is a revolving sundial disc 8.9" in diameter with a dovetail slot for a Gnomon (missing) and is inscribed Culpeper Lat 51 10. Overall measurements 11.5" x 11.5". Also with this item is a leather bound handwritten Court Roll relating to Parracombe Devon dating from 1724 to 1741 with many signatures including John St Alban Esq Lord of the Manor.

Derbyshire Fishing Interest - a late Victorian/Edwardian E.P.B.M pedestal ovoid trophy cup, Castle Ward Angling Challenge Cup, Presented by A Ottewell Esq, JP, 1903, finial cast as an angler with his catch, stiff leaf cast fluted angular scroll handles, engraved with scrolling foliage, knopped stem, stepped circular base, 65cm high, c.1900, ebonised plinth Councillor Albert Ottewell JP (1861-1910) was the member of Derby Corporation for Castle Ward - a relatively deprived area near the Railway Station - from 1893 to 1903. Son of Draper Ottewell, he was the nephew and heir of Alderman Sir John Smith, a brass-founder on a national scale, with a works at Derby on Cotton Lane, normally referred to as "Brassy Smiths". On Sir John`s death in 1897, Ottewell succeeded him as proprietor of the Company of which he was then Managing Director. The Fishing trophy was presented as an attempt to help improve the lot of his constituents.
