The engine has a copper boiler with fittings including water gauge, pressure gauge, safety valve, blower, clack and blowdown valves. Engine details include cylinder approximately 1in bore x 1 1/2in stroke, drain cocks and pipes, mechanical lubricator, trunk type crosshead guide, Stephenson's link reverse, eccentric driven feed pump and bypass, two road speeds and spoked flywheel. Pickering type governor, chassis details include spoked straked wheels, worm and roller chain steering, spud pan, damper, cable drum, fairleads, water lifter, hand brake to second shaft, wooden footboard and tool box. A well engineered 2in scale model of a Shand Mason Horse Drawn Fire Engine, built by Mr J.B.Nickolls from Edgar T Westbury drawings and Reeves castings. The model with copper boiler having 'J' tubes, normal fittings, twin cylinder engine with cylinder head lubricators, scotch cranks, eccentric driven feed pump and stop cock, twin spoked flywheels and twin direct coupled water pumps with change over lever, water tanks, suction and delivery hose. Chassis and body details include spoked wooden wheels with metal rims, turning lock, coal bunker, drivers seat with brass rail to back, box body with foot rest, brake gear, bell, two branches and lamp backets. The model finished in red and black paintwork with brass plate inscribed 'Shand Mason & Co. Engineers, London. 14in wide x 22in long

The model finished in green, black and red paintwork with canopy sign written 'Henry Gilham & Son, Clapton, Nr Bath'. Chassis details include worm and quadrant operated Ackerman steering, rubber tyred wheels with brass hub caps, working leaf springs, rear axle differential unit, water tank with hand feed pump, whistle, canvas covered planked cab roof with removeable rear panel and other details. Trailer details include riveted channel section frame, working leaf springs, rubber tyred wheels with brass hub caps and wooden platform sides and bottom with detachable drivers feet rests.
