A .450 WESTLEY RICHARDS PATENT 'MONKEY TAIL' BREECH-LOADING PERCUSSION SPORTING RIFLE by Westley Richards & Co., serial no. 5422, dated '1875', with 29in. blued octagonal barrel with Whitworth patent rifling, raised matt sighting rib with bead fore-sight and rear-sight of one standing and seven folding leaves graduated to 800 yards, the rib also with a 20in. trophy scale with the last eleven inches marked in gold-inlaid numerals, signed scroll engraved hinged breech lever, scroll engraved signed bolted lock dated within a triangle, set trigger, figured walnut half-stock with chequered pistolgrip and fore-end, iron mounts including scroll engraved trigger-guard and patchbox cover, the latter with 'M. Lebisear. Bloemfontein.' inlaid in gold, iron sling eyes, horn fore-end cap, and brass-mounted ramrod with worm (refinished throughout), Birmingham proof marks.
A George III mahogany line inlaid stick barometer, by P. Barnardi & Co., London, the broken pediment with central brass finial above a rectangular silvered scale, with vernier and alcohol thermometer above a moulded trunk and a domed cistern cover inset with an ivory and ebony roundel, slight losses to mouldings, 96.5cm high

Labyrinth. A black fibre-glass two part model of the character Humongous, set in a wall, 1986, the figure approx. 37 x 46 cm lying flat in the moulded walls, a little damaged with loss to tips of four spikes, overall approx. 43 x 50 x 10 cm. The figure of Humongous was sketched by conceptual designer Brian Froud for Jim Henson's film Labyrinth, starring David Bowie. The full-scale model stood 15 ft tall and weighed approximately 2.5 tonnes. This and the following model were made by one of the film's modellers Tony Freeman. (1)
