A large pair of 19th century basalt urn vases in neoclassical style: the reticulated covers with bud finials above Pharaoh-style mask handles interconnected with harebell swags, raised on square plinth bases, apparently unmarked. (38 cm high)* Condition report: One vase has a very small chip to the edge of the base, a small firing crack just below the shoulder to one side and a tiny firing crack below the chin on both mask handles. There is also a shallow chip beneath the edge of the cover. The second vase has an old glued repair to the cover finial, which has been off. The vase has several small firing cracks to the underside of the base and another larger firing crack to one side of the base, with a tiny chip to the edge on the same side. There is also a noticeable firing crack beneath the chin and to the nose on one of the mask handles.
A 19th century gilt-metal-mounted and rouge variegated marble urn and cover: the domed cover surmounted with a pineapple finial and above two large and elaborate ram's heads in Robert Adams style and connected by a further gilt-metal reticulated band of leaves and berries; the base similarly cast with gilt-metal acanthus leaves above a scrolling circular fluted foot leading to a wreath band; red marble base with concave corners and a beaded moulding (48 cm highest x 27.5 cm widest)

A pair of 19th century Wedgwood two-handled basalt vases in neoclassical style and of urn form: applied with satyr masks and various swags, the bases with applied anthemia, impressed Wedgwood marks to underside. (Some damage and minus covers.) (18.75 cm high).2. A pair of Wedgwood black basalt table-candlesticks with typical finely applied figural decoration (12.5 cm high).
A 19th century French gilt-metal-cased eight-day mantle clock in Louis XVI style. The two-handled classical-style urn finial above a 7.5 cm white-enamel dial signed Planchon à Paris, with Roman numerals and five-minute Arabic markers, further over two swags and a glazed aperture revealing sunburst-style cast pendulum headed with a mask, the movement individually numbered 605 and signed 'Planchon - Paris'. (33.5cm high) Mathieu Planchon (1842-1921) was apprenticed to his father and subsequently worked for several of the leading French makers including Robert-Houdin and Philippe prior to setting up business in 1880 at Palais Royale, Paris. He specialised in high-end novelty clocks and various imaginative recreations of Renaissance and other historic models.
A pair and a single bonbonnière:1. A good pair of 19th century cut glass covered bonbonnières, possibly Voneche, of urn form and with Monteith rim, petal cut decoration, cut baluster stem and hexagonal foot. The high domed cover with witch's hat finial.(32.5 cm high).2. A 20th century covered bonbonnière with cut scroll and foliate decoration to the jar and cover, on a stepped square base. (31.5 cm high). Condition- Pair: One with five small chips to rim and chip to edge of cover. The other with one large and four small chips to rim and small chips and fritting to edge of cover.- Single: Small chip to top of vase. Otherwise good.

A GEORGE III SMALL TORTOISESHELL TEA CADDY, c.1790, of canted oblong form, the press moulded ribbed tortoiseshell panels with ivory stringing, the fascia inset with a panel depicting a small blue glass(?) pillared mausoleum with twisted gilt metal wire "steps" enclosing a painted funerary urn on a sky blue painted ground within a mirrored frame and all enclosed by a reverse white painted slightly convex clear glass within a metal fillet, the reverse applied with an engraved silver shield (unmarked), the hinged cover with metal loop handle opening to reveal a plain interior, 4" x 2 3/4", 4 1/4" high (Illustrated) (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT) Non transferable standard ivory exemption declaration number VN4ZGX4NThe oval base appears to be original but the tortoiseshell and ivory are veneered above, so the edge of the base is very visible. Cover detached but no apparent damage to exterior, interior has some ivory veneer missing. Lock escutcheon damaged with loss. The mirror has tarnished, the white painting is good, however a couple of glass columns are loose and awry (one visible below on its side together with a few pieces of wire.
