19TH CENTURY FRENCH ARCHITECTURAL ORMOLU MANTEL CLOCK, the case surmounted by ram's head and swag mounted urn over an arch pediment with pineapple finials, circular enamelled face with Roman numerals, above two painted French porcelain panels on a platform base with bun feet. Two train drum movement striking on one bell, together with a gilded wooden plinth. The clock 36cm high. CONDITION REPORT: General surface wear to the case, no significant damage or losses, movement and face are loose within the case. Plinth base has significant losses to and wear to gesso and gilding.

†A continental dress sword, slender SE blade 31½”, etched with trophy of arms within scrolled panels, brass hilt, the upturned shell guard with raised inner edges, the inner portion hinged upwards, facetted knucklebow and ornamental urn shaped pommel with prominent cap stud, simulated wirebound grip, with gilt bullion knot in its leather scabbard with brass chape and locket with long frog hook. An officer’s 18 bore flintlock holster pistol, by T. Mortimer, c 1810, 14” overall, flat topped round twist barrel 9” engraved “London” in script, stepped signed lock with French style cock, safety bolt, rainproof pan and roller on frizzen spring, plate engraved with fern tip border and floral bouquet, walnut fullstock with rounded chequered butt, vacant oval escutcheon, steel trigger guard engraved with trophy and with pineapple/urn finial, and brass tipped ramrod. †A cavalry officer’s sword of the King’s German Legion, curved, fullered blade 32”, with narrow back fuller inscribed monogram CF (Corlaux Frères?) on one side at forte, and “Klingenthal” on the other, etched in frosted panels, containing a little original gilt, on one side with a stylized mythical beast, floral urn, cactus and “GR” cypher, and on the other side 1816-37 Royal Arms with supporters and motto, trophies of instruments and rod of Aesculapius with twin serpents, semi basket hilt with flat knucklebow and 3 bars on the outer side and 2 on the inner, plain pommel and backstrap, wirebound sharkskin grip (replaced), gilt sword knot, in its steel scabbard (polished bright) with 2 rings. A Louis XVIII Sevres covered Urn provenance to Charlotte consort of George III d. 1818. Sevres marks for 1814-24, painted with a band of flowers against a greed ground. 19th c. paper label of provenance to the underside of the cover. Queen Charlotte owned a related but earlier green service now in the Royal Collection. This may have been a replacement or additional piece. Many of the Queen's possession were sold at auction shortly after her death. Condition: the tail of one handle restored, otherwise good.
Sword: A 1796 Pattern Infantry Officers sword. Gilt brass hilt with wirebound grip. Urn shaped pommel. Double shell guard, one rigid and one folding. Blued blade 32", single edge with central fuller.
