WILLIAM BOYDEN KIRK (1824-1990) A Belleek china first period figure of Erin otherwise titled ''Erin Awakening from Her Slumbers'', designed by H. William Boyden Kirk (1824-1900), matte glazed. This allegorical piece represents the unveiling or introduction of Belleek Pottery to the world. Erin personifies Eire with shamrocks laced through her hair and she is unveiling the inscribed urn which symbolises Belleek Pottery. John Gordin, LondonA late 17th/early 18th century walnut eight-day longcase clock, the 11-inch square brass dial with silvered Roman chapter ring, sword hilt half hour marks, and Arabic minute track, matted centre, subsidiary seconds with ringed winding holes and date aperture, signed chapter ring, winged cherub head spandrels, the movement with five knopped and finned pillars. The hood with floral marquetry to the dome top and door, brass urn finials, plain pilasters and glass side panels over a convex throat and 42-inch trunk door with 'D' ended floral and bird marquetry panels, convex lenticle over a further floral marquetry rectangular panel and later skirt base. Comes with a pair of brass cased weights, pendulum and key. 240cm high, 94.5inDial good, some rubbing to the silvering in the chapter ring, movement clean and currently working but not tested or guaranteed. The case generally good and clean. The hood with later finials and one small strip of moulding missing. Base slightly shortened because of the later skirt which has a patch of veneer missing to the front face and rear right foot.
