A late 18th century probably Italian carved wood and gilt gesso wall mirror with pierced oakleaf and triumphal urn surmount above a moulded rectangular frame. 75 cm overall width x 128 cm overall heightDispersal of an old family collection.No apparent major defects, some loss to gilt frame and expected age wear to the back. Overall in good condition.The cresting shows some breaks and these have been backed with an old blacksmith bracket.I think the plate might be an old replacement but the mirror shows some patination to the silvering and is quite thin, see the images for clarification.The size of the frame alone is 94 cm x 75 cm the breadth of frame is 5.3 cmThe finish is gilt, not gold paint but the cresting by its uneven/ rustic nature will be of a different lustre.
