A George IV old Sheffield plated urn, unmarked, circa 1828, baluster form, with oak-leaf mounted side handles, vine and grape borders, the pull-off cover with a cauliflower finial, the tap with a shell handle and mythical beast spout, on a raised shaped square foot on four shell bracket feet, engraved with a crest and dated '1825', height 46cm. The crest is that of Rattray of Scotland.
A Victorian silver-gilt ewer and pair of goblets, by Frederick Elkington, Birmingham 1871, the ewer of ovoid form, scroll handle, decorated in the Greek revival manner with classical maidens and foliate decoration, on a raised circular foot, the goblets with urn shaped bowls, with similar decoration, on raised circular bases, with a monogram and crest, height 20.8cm, height of goblets 17.5cm, approx. weight 32oz. (3) The motto, crest and monogram are those for Oliver.
A George III silver two-handled cup and cover, by Richard Cooke, London 1807, urn form, with bifurcated snake scroll handles, foliate borders and a foliate and cornucopia frieze, the pull-off cover with fluted decoration and with a cauliflower finial, on a raised circular foot with a leaf border, engraved with two armorials, with traces of gilding, height 38.5cm, approx. weight 90oz. The shield is that granted to the City of Southampton in 1575, ensigned by a royal crown of 1807 design. The arms on the reverse are those of Hauge of Yorkshire impaling Stewart.

A George III silver sugar basket and cream pail, by William Turton, London 1782, in the Robert Adam manner, classical urn form, with alternated striped matted and plain decoration, beaded borders and swing-handles, on raised circular bases on a square foot with a circular motif, with blue glass liners, heights 16cm and 12.8cm, approx. weight 14oz. (2) Provenance: purchased from J.H. Bourdon-Smith Ltd, Mason's Yard, St. James's, 22 February 1990.
A 1796 pattern infantry officer’s service sword, plain blade 31½”, gilt brass hilt with double shell guard, the inner portion turning down, crossguard with bud finial, facetted knucklebow, lightly ornamental facetted urn shaped pommel, simulated silver wirebound grip. Basically GC the hilt retaining a little original gilt (blade some wear and pitting).
A French 48 bore flintlock sidelock pocket pistol, c 1770, 7” overall, round tapered barrel 3”, the plain rounded lock having swan neck cock, the dark walnut fullstock having carved panels around the lock and mounts and scrolls behind the barrel tang, the steel mounts include long spurred buttcap, flat sideplate and trigger guard with urn shaped finial. GC (slightly worn overall with light pitting to metalwork, the action AF).
An early 19th century courtsword, slender tapered SE blade 29½”, etched with small trophies and florets and blued and gilt for almost half its length, ornamental brass hilt retaining a little original gilt, the large turn down shell guard embossed with head and shoulders of a classical female figure, cornucopia and foliage, crossguard with flat quillon, floral panelled knucklebow, urn pommel with stud, fluted MOP grips. A 1796 pattern light cavalry officer’s sword, curved, fullered blade 33”, marked “Warranted Double Proof” on backstrap, etched and blued and gilt for two thirds length with ornamental Union wreath, 1801-16 Royal Arms, standing Britannia and elaborate trophy of arms on one side, and on the other with female head in floral frame, crowned GR cypher, mounted trooper, trophy of arms and foliage in urn, facetted steel hilt with crossguard, langets, knucklebow, forward sloping pommel and backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings (minor dents, one throat screw missing). A pair of late Victorian candlesticks, each having relief decoration in the neo-classical form, Sheffield hallmarks 1895 & 1896, each 30cm. Condition Report: Both stand upright and square.Some slight loss of pattern definition to top urn of one stick - due to polishing.Numerous small knocks to rim of bottom edge of both sticks, commensurate with age.
