Two Regency embroidered circular pictures, early 19th century, comprising: a mournful looking woman seated on a bench with her hands clasped and with a dog at her feet, worked in wool and silk on a silk ground with painted details, in a giltwood frame with verre eglomise mount, picture 29.5cm diameter, frame 47.5cm x 47.5cm; and a Regency silk work picture, with a woman leant on a memorial plinth with an urn inscribed WERTER, in giltwood frame with gilt mount, picture 29.5cm diameter, frame 39.5cm x 39.5cm (2)Provenance: Property from the estate of the late David Cornwell, best-known as the author John le Carré.Condition Report: Mournful looking woman - the silk background with discolouration and two large horizontal tears to the top of the picture as well as other smaller tears below and above. Also there is another tear to the silk background to the right of the picture. Minor discolouration to face and arms. There is deterioration to the embroidery on the dog and minor deterioration to the left of the bench and the ground. The frame with chips, knocks, losses and gilt and splits. The sides with losses to paint, chips and cracks. Wear and scratches to verre eglomise mount.  Woman leant on memorial (Werter) - Ruckling to the silk at the top of the picture. Some discolouration and wear to the silk background, with rubbing and small holes to the right of the base of the memorial urn. Also wear, possibly repaired, to right of picture. Some minor wear and discolouration to embroidery. Some bending and discolouration to the face and arms. The frame with numerous chips, scratches, cracks and losses of paint.

A pair of French gilt-bronze and cut glass six-light candelabra, late 19th century, each with scroll arms and faceted glass drops, balls, and pendants above an urn stem on a circular foot with acanthus decoration, 80cm high (2)It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that electrical items are professionally rewired for use.Condition Report: Both candelabras in need of some restoration and replacement parts. Both candelabra are missing one glass flowerheads, and several glass beads and drops are missing or replaced with other drops, several flowerheads to the second tier of acanthus leaves with losses, chips and nibbles, several drops missing from the sconces, several chains of beads are missing from the lower scrolling branches, a couple of scrolling arms are bent or misshapen. One candelabra has an old crack and loss to the glass diamond below the top-most scrolling branches. There are a few glass balls, beads and drops loose and present with the lot. Each lamp is wired but not tested for working capability, it is the buyer's responsibility to ensure electrical lights are professionally rewired for use.

A George III inlaid mahogany longcase clock, late 18th century, the elaborate broken swan neck pediment with urn finials above gilt scrolling foliate painted glass frieze dated 1787, having reeded Corinthian columns with brass capitals, the trunk with satinwood paterae above moulded Gothic style door flanked by cluster columns, on crossbanded plinth with corresponding columns on ogee bracket feet, the arched painted dial signed SAML COLLIER ECCLES, with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial at twelve, date aperture to centre and rolling moon phase dial to arch, the dial centre painted with a shepherd and his lover, the eight day movement striking a bell, with pendulum and weights, 256cm highProvenance: Property from the estate of the late David Cornwell, best-known as the author John le Carré.Please note that Roseberys do not guarantee the working order or time keeping of any timepiece.Condition Report: Case: With wear consistent with age and use, to include knocks, scratches, splits and wear. The top with left finial detached but present and split to left side. Knocks and chips to cornice. Cracks and scratches to painted glass frieze. Left column is not sitting straight and has split and minor chips to base. Both columns with minor knocks and scratches and minor tarnishing to caps. Right side of hood has restored vertical splits, the left side with general scratching and restored patch to moulding. Chips and splits to seat board and some nails to case under seat board. Door with splits to veneer and with wooden block glued to frame behind door on lower left and splits to top right. The dental frieze underneath the hood with one missing tooth to the left side and one missing to right side. Trunk with minor discolouration to both sides, splits and warping to right side and minor chips to edges, lifting and minor chip to veneer above door. Door does not sit fully flush and with split to the right of the lower hinge. Plinth base with knocks to moulding, splits and warping to front and minor discolouration to sides. Left moulding has been re-glued as has one of the feet. The other feet with some wear. Backboard to case with holes, large cracks repaired with strip of cloth, and with replaced board to top and bottom sections. Dial: Craquelure and minor losses to paint. Chips to paint to dial edges. Minor rubbing to numerals. Some surface scratching. Tarnishing and bending to hands.Movement: Some scratches to backplate. Pendulum guide slightly bent. Tarnishing and bending to pendulum. A George III silver coffee pot, London, 1783, John Kidder, of baluster form, the repousse floral scroll decorated body raised on a circular foot with bead border, the wooden scroll handle to hinged lid with urn-shaped finial, 30.2cm high, approx. weight 25.6ozCondition Report: Good condition commensurate with age. Some surface scratching, nicking and minor pitting noted and some minor dings and bruising to body. Stands steadily on foot. Decoration likely later added. Lid stamped with IK and lion passant. Hallmarks to underside clear. Some splitting and evidence of repairs at hinge join. Small patch to neck near hinge. Some small splits and nicks to handle and some patches of discoloration. Probable small repair to one side of upper handle join. No splits or repairs solder noted to main body. Decoration generally good, some wear to high points in places. Finial sits slightly askew. Overall an attractive coffee pot in good condition commensurate with age.

K. Thuny, Czechoslovakia, 24cm long, a replacement Blue Onion pattern jug, Czech Republic, 8cm high, a modern Meissen milk jug with blue and white flowers and insects, 16cm high, and a modern Meissen creamer with blue and white flowers and insects, raised on three feet, 10cm high (lot)Condition Report: Overall in good decorative order but with several small condition issues. The small leaf shaped dish with a loss to the rim and a damage impact point. A chip to the rim of one soup bowl, and a small crack and loss to the rim of another. Some loss of glaze to one large rectangular dish. The muffin dish and lid with washed out colours and decoration. One dinner plate with a large crack from rim to well and two very small losses of porcelain to the underside, another with a chip to the rim, two dinner plates with heavy surface dirt and grease. An impact point and crazing to the underside of one side plate, another with a chip to the rim and a hairline crack with very small loss of porcelain. The lid for the twin handled urn with later replaced finial as mentioned in the cataloguing, and also some yellowing restoration to a couple of chips. One gravy boat with a crack through one handle. Nibbles to footrim of one medium plate, small firing flaw to one medium plate. A couple of firing flaws to the tureen lacking a cover. One teacup has been completely broken through and amateurly restored with large crack lines visible. The butterfly dish with a firing crack to the underside. One rectangular dish with a hairline crack through one section of the footrim. a couple of firing cracks to the footrim of the large elongated dish. One oval dish with a dirt-filled hairline crack to one section of the footrim. One oval dish with loss of gilding to the rim. A couple of small firing flaws to the footirm of one large oval dish. A couple of firing flaws to the largest oval dish. General surface dirt and light surface wear and light scratching to porcelain from prior use. Cancellation marks present to: one side plate, one dinner plate, two medium plates, the tureen lacking a cover, one large circular scalloped rim dish, two oval serving dishes.
