A decorative cream and gilt painted Regency style oval wall mirror with urn surmount, ribbon tied swag decoration, and bevelled plate, width 122cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are a few small sections of loss to the swag motif, it has clearly been regilded and painted, but the basics of the frame is late 19th century.
A cased Chateau Latour clear glass urn shaped decanter and stopper, with hallmarked silver label engraved with presentation inscription "Presented to Gilbert LeFevre with gratitude kitchen brigade Midland Hotel 1962-1985", a further cased set of six "Veteran Cars" glasses in leatherbound modelled as two books, and a set of three amber glass decanters in similar leather case, with gilt decoration and inscriptions "Whisky", "Gin" and "Cognac", height 22cm (3).
A mid 19th century English three piece garniture in the Oriental manner, the larger twin handled octagonal baluster shaped jar and cover with internal lid decorated with exotic birds amongst floral sprays, with twin slightly smaller garniture urns, height 28cm and 23cm. CONDITION REPORT: The large jar: rubbing to the gilding, some crazing throughout, internal lid has been broken and repaired, heavy rubbing to the gilded handles, one of which has been broken and crudely glue repaired, some staining to the body. First smaller urn: no inner liner, has chips (one repaired) to the lid, the finial has been broken off, some minor cracks to the lid, crazing to the base, some staining, general wear. Second smaller urn: the head of the finial has been broken and glued, chips to the rim, one of which is 3 x 1cm, a section of the inner lid is missing, crazing, fine cracks, and a 1 x 0.5cm chip to the rim, rubbing to the gilding, general surface wear.
Three early 19th century Staffordshire figures, one depicting a classical figure of woman next to a garden urn, height 23.5cm, two others depicting Hope, and a Prattware figure of Spring, height 23cm (4). CONDITION REPORT: Classical figure: major star cracks to the base spreading from a chip, also some hairlines to the back, some nibbles. Hope (white robe) - several areas of loss to the paint, major crack spreading down back, nibbles to the base, crack, crazing throughout. Hope - head was broken in half and restored, restoration to the base. Prattware - head has been reglued and restored, areas of nibbles and losses to glaze on the base.
A pair of Royal Crown Derby Imari decorated tapering baluster vases with gilt applied moulded handles, printed marks to base, 6299/1198, also with incised no.1198, height 15.5cm and a miniature Royal Crown Derby Imari decorated urn, height 7cm (3). CONDITION REPORT: Minor rubbing to gilding, otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration. Postage cost within UK would be £18 + VAT. Postage to New Zealand would cost approximately £160, but pleae confirm after the auction for a precise figure.
18th Century Smallsword, with Swivel Polished Steel Bar Guard. A good quality example, the narrow straight double edged 31 inch blade with engraved floral decoration. The hilt with a polished steel ribbon decorated guard with fixed single D shape knucklebow and swivel steel ornate ribbon decorated bar guard. The white ivorine / bone grip with reeded decoration and terminates with a polished steel Urn pommel. Housed in original black leather and steel mounted scabbard. Good clean condition.
Battle of Waterloo Period British 1796 Blue & Gilt Bladed Infantry Officer’s Sword. A good example with 32 inch straight single edged blade with half length blue and gilt decoration, this depicting a crowned GR cypher and Royal Coat of Arms. The gilt brass hilt with a single bar guard and urn shape pommel. The grip with silvered wire binding. Fitted with double shell guard, one folding. The cross guard terminates with a flower bud finial. Scabbard absent. 50% blue & gilt decoration remains.
