A WILLIAM IV SILVER PLATED TEA URN of classical form with urn finial, scrolling hands and band of Greek Key decoration and further floral decoration, turned finial to the handle and standing on a square base with bun feet, all on a square silver plated glass inset stand with scrolling dolphin feet, the tea urn stamped beneath D*S for James Dixson & Sons, 20 1/2" high overall This tea urn was purchased by the grandfather of the current owner at the sale of the effects of Lord Kelvin following his death in 1907. The grandfather at the sale asked his housekeeper which of the objects for sale were heavily used by Lord Kelvin and she pointed him to the tea urn and said `Lord Kelvin used it every day`. The tea urn was then passed down through the current vendors family where is was affectionately known as `Aunt Sabina`.

A large and rare early 19th Century Barr Flight & Barr - Worcester, two handled urn shaped Vase, the waisted neck with Greek key style pattern above pearl style beading and stylised anthemion's and leaves, flanked by two open winged and mouthed eagles as handles, the central panel very finely painted with the Straits of Menai, from Anglesey, socle style base with similar anthemion and palmet style leaf decoration and on square plinth, impress and painted marks to underside "Barr Flight & Barr - Worcester, London House, Flight & Barr, Coventry Street, manufacturers to their Majesties Prince of Wales and Royal Family, 32cm high (damage including lower plinth base section away and now re-glued and two large hairline cracks to main body)
A very rare pair of early 19th Century Flight Barr & Barr two handled porcelain Ice Pails with covers and liners, in the manner of Thomas Baxter, each cover with leaf moulded vertical finial above cobalt blue ground with Classical style decoration including stylised anthemion's and each with two opposing oval panels, one finely decorated in enamels with floral sprays the other with various seashells and further over squat urn shaped main bodies, each with acanthus style moulded and gilded handles against cobalt blue grounds and each with larger opposing vignettes of fine seashells and floral sprays, each with impressed mark to underside, each approx. 28cm high x 30cm wide (including handles), some damages and reparations, Thomas Baxter (1782-1821) moved from London to Worcester in 1814 joining the firm of Flight Barr & Barr as an all round "Decorator" and was soon recognised for the fine painting for which he is famous. He has been described "the most accomplished Artist who painted Worcester porcelain in the first half of the 19th Century", Baxter died in London 18th April 1821.
