A Georgian Enamel and Split Pearl Swivel Mourning Brooch the rectangular plaque enamelled to depict an urn and weeping willow, within a split pearl frame, in yellow claw settings, with a locket compartment to the reverse measures 2.5cm by 1.7cmThe brooch is in good condition with slight wear commensurate with age. It fastens with a pin and c-hook catch. Originally with ivory plaque to the reverse inscribed 'Adml Ld Nelson Frances D 21 Oct. 1805' which has been removed. It bears no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion would test as gold. Gross weight 6.8 grams. CR made 07.11.23.

A group of three Shelley Queen Anne trios, to include two trios in the Garden Urn pattern, one trio in the Blue Iris pattern, together with a Queen Anne teacup and saucer in the Butcher's Rose pattern, each with painted and printed marks to underside (11) Dark blue-rimmed trio - The largest plate has a collection of dust and some markings with a small glaze bubble on the base. The smaller plate has some marks on the rim and top surface, removing decoration in some areas. Very shallow fracture marks in two areas. The teacup with some fracture marks with rubbing to the decoration. Purple-rimmed cup and saucer - both have minor markings with rubbing to the paint. A shallow hairline fracture across the centre of the saucer. The green-rimmed set - One teacup has a discoloured hairline crack in the base and roughness to one corner of the rim. The other teacup has a small disocloured nick on the rim - see images. The two smaller plates have discoloured markings to the surface. The larger plates have discoloured markings and some scratches to the surface.

Provenance:Long term single private-family ownership, probably since new.
A GEORGE II/III MAHOGANY EIGHT-DAY LONGCASE CLOCKTHE DIAL WITH A SIGNATURE FOR RICHARD PECKOVER, LONDON, MID TO LATE 18th CENTURYThe four finned pillar rack and bell striking movement with anchor escapement regulated by seconds pendulum, the 12 inch brass dial with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture to the matted centre within applied silvered Roman numeral chapter ring with diamond lozenge half hour markers and Arabic five minutes to outer track, with scroll-pierced steel hands and twin-bird-and-urn cast spandrels to angles beneath added arch applied with a domed engraved silvered boss engraved Richard Peckover, London flanked by dolphin cast mounts, in a solid heavy mahogany case with concave-sided 'pagoda' superstructure fronted with a shaped foliate pierced fret over moulded break-arch cornice and hinged glazed dial aperture applied with three-quarter columns to angles, the sides with rectangular glazed windows and conforming quarter columns set against bargeboards at the rear, the trunk with break-arch door applied with complex edge mouldings over a plain plinth base with ogee top mouldings.229cm (90.25ins) high, 48cm (19ins) wide, 24cm (9.5ins) deep. Richard Peckover is recorded in Baillie, G.H. Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World as working first in 'Change Alley' in 1735 and then Royal Exchange in 1751 until around 1754. He is believed to have taken-on Quare and Horseman's business in 1733. Condition Report: Movement is complete and in working condition with no visible alteration to the mechanism, it is however a little dirty/neglected hence a clean and overhaul is advised. The dial has an 'added arch' suggesting that it originally was a square dial clock and later converted to arch dial. Bearing this in mind we cannot offer any assurances that it is by Peckover. The dial is a little dirty/tarnished but undamaged. The case has veneer patch repairs to the around the fretwork aperture to the superstructure - the curved top moulding has also been replaced with a simple curved strip (rather than the original cavetto profile). The base is lacking a skirt otherwise case is in sound condition with faults limited to relatively minor bumps and scuffs.Clock has two weights, winder, pendulum and a case key.Condition Report Disclaimer
