A mid 18th century infantry officerÂ’s spadroon, straight fullered blade 32”, etched with crowned Garter (? unclear), starburst, head and shoulders jolly soldier wearing mitre cap with crown and GR, flourishes and trophies, steel stirrup hilt with 2 shallow facetted sidebars into sideloop, multi facetted urn pommel and stud, fluted, swollen ebony grip. Basically GC for age (top 1¼Â” of knucklebow missing, wear and deep pitting patches to blade)

A good cut steel hilted courtsword, hollow triangular section blade 31”, by Henry Poole & Co Savile Row, London W, etched with trophy and scrolled panels, plated hilt with pierced turn down shell guard, pas d’ane rings, crossguard and knucklebow, urn shaped pommel and slightly swollen grip, profusely decorated overall with cut steel studs, gilt knot and bullion tassel, in its black patent leather scabbard (kinked near chape) with plated mounts, leatherette and pigskin case. A good infantry officerÂ’s spadroon, c 1780, tapering shallow diamond section blade 32½Â”, with flattened centre for most of its length, nicely etched on both sides with Royal Arms, supporters and motto, trophies and scrolls, steel stirrup hilt, the guard with prominent side loop, knucklebow into facetted urn shaped pommel and stud, slightly swollen, panelled and fluted ivory grip. Very Good Condition for age with a pleasing patina to hilt and traces of original blade polish. Plate 17
A 1796 pattern infantry officer’s sword, straight fullered blade 32”, etched with Royal Arms, crowned GR cypher, small scroll “Warranted” , officer with sword, trophy and flourishes, brass hilt with double shell guard, the inner shell turning down, knucklebow and quillon, facetted urn pommel, simulated silver wirebound grip, with knot (AF). Good Condition, dark patina to blade with a little original gilding, traces of gilt to hilt. Plate 17
A 1796 pattern light cavalry officer’s sword of the Liverpool Light Horse, curved blade 33”, etched “Gills Warranted” at forte, with crowned GR cypher, mounted Hussar, owner’s initials “JS”, Liver bird and monogram “LLH” in panels surmounted by ornamental urn, steel stirrup hilt with langets, facetted knucklebow and forward sloping pommel and backstrap, wirebound leather grip, buff leather knot, in its steel scabbard (small dent) with 2 rings on fluted bands. Good Condition, the blade retaining much original polish (blade reseated and lightly cleaned towards point). Plate 24

Craven Dunhill - A 6 inch dust press lustre tile, circa 1890, decorated with a stylised flower head and foliage in tones of orange and yellow with iridescent lustre borders, impressed marks together with a Maw and Co 6 inch dust pressed tile circa 1870 decorated with a stylised A in white against a black ground and a further Maw & Co decorated with a blue Grecian urn with green ribbon garlands all to a tonal yellow repeat pattern ground.
