An Empire-Style Mahogany and Gilt Metal-Mounted Gueridon, early 19th century, the circular black marble top (repaired) above a column support with gilt foliate mounts in the form of acanthus leaves and an urn issuing flames, above a gilt metal moulded socle with triform base decorated with rosettes, on castors31cm by 75cmThe top has been broken and re-glued (see images). Further chips and nibbles around the rim. The mounts are reasonable quality, the triform base has some old shrinkage splits. The column base also has a fine split (see images).

A Minton Majolica Jardiniere, circa 1870, of compressed urn form surmounted by two cherubs holding palm fronds over mask handles, on scroll support and quatrefoil base, impressed marks69cm highThe main bowl broken and restored with old over spray showing to the inside. The damage is detactable looking at the ouside with a crack running from one side of each mask and with further evidence of the repair to the underside fluted section. One handle has survived and the other broken through the puttis waist with the wreath to his left also repaired. Glaze crazing throughout.

There is some wear to the marks but they are generally still legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The ivory with some minor discolouration and cracking.
