A 19th Century French ormolu and four-glass eight day mantel clock, the enamelled arabic dial, two train drum movement with count wheel strike and sunburst pendulum, the case with urn-shaped finial, applied floral and ribbon decoration to the case, raised on a marble base and adjustable feet. 47 x 21 x 17cms.
A 1796 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword, the 81cm single edge fullered steel blade bearing traces of original half bluing, incised and gilt with the crowned GR cypher and Royal Coat of Arms, the ricasso stamped S to one side, the gilt brass hilt with double shell guard, one side hinged, facetted knuckle bow with foliate sheathed quillon, foliated sheathed urn pommel and silver wire bound grip, lacks scabbard, 98cmRust pitting to the blade, which retains most of the original bluing. Three tiny nicks to the edge. Wear to the gilding on the brass hilt. The hinge is strong on the guard and the silver wire binding is good. There is no scabbard.

William Monckton Arundel became 2nd Viscount GALWAY (died 1772) in 1751. William was the son of John MONCKTON-ARUNDELL (1695-1751) who was in 1727 created 1st Viscount GALWAY. Elizabeth and William Monkton-Arundel had three sons and two daughters, and their two sons succeeded as 3rd and 4th Viscount. Galway Condition Report: There is some wear to the settings commensurate with age and use, the shank has been sized, there are a couple of chips to the surface of the glazed panel. Branches of the family in existence at the time of assay (1786) include: Earl of Mexborough, SAVILE of Lincolnshire and Darton Grange Nottinghamshire, SAVILE of Thirbergh Yorkshire, SAVILE of Humby Lincolnshire. Most are descended from the earlier family of Methley Yorkshire. A pair of Victorian silver candlesticks, with gadrooned decoration. Height 9 cm, Sheffield 1892, maker Fenton Brothers. CONDITION REPORT: Both sconces are slightly bent out of shape, however there are no splits or dings. The hallmarks to both sconces are fully legible including the makers mark. One candlestick has been repaired beneath the lobed section of the urn. Solder is visible when viewed from the underside. The repair is sound. The other candlestick is free from repairs. There are no perforations to the bases and no significant scratches or dents. The hallmarks are a little rubbed but legible with the exception of the makers mark which as stated is fully legible on the sconces.
