A George III Mahogany Bow-front Sideboard cross-banded in satinwood and inlaid with decorative stringing. The top having a gilt brass gallery rail screwed into three baluster uprights surmounted by urn finials and measuring 48 ins (122 cms) in width. The frieze drawer above an arched kneehole flanked by deep cellaret drawers retaining their original ring handles on lion-mask mounts and raised on six ring-turned tapering legs inlaid with vertical strings.

The stand of rectangular form, painted and gilt with iron-red and blue scrolls issuing from gilt trumpet-shaped ornament, gilt with further palmettes and urns, on richly-gilt griffin supports and applied with satyr-mask terminals, with a central oval well holding a candlestick and flanking two circular wells for an urn-shaped pounce-pot and cover and an inkwell and cover (some areas of restoration and light rubbing to gilding). The stand 10 3/8 in. (26.7 cm.) wide (6).
