A pair of Meissen porcelain figural groups, late 19th century, both depicting a gentleman, lady and a boy in 18th century attire, surrounded by garlands before an urn and cover, underglaze blue crossed swords, 21.5cm high (2) (some damages) Provenance: Sold together with photographs of an oil portrait of the original owner, William Barlow, who was the mayor of Winchester and a Liberal MP for many years. The pair of figural groups took pride of place in the drawing room of the house he commissioned in the outskirts of Winchester in 1840.
