The taste for painted furniture and decoration was also championed by the architect James Wyatt 1746-1813, a contemporary and rival of Robert Adam whose major neo-classical houses include Heveningham Hall in Suffolk, Packington Hall in Staffordshire and Dodington Park in Gloucestershire.
