Oil jar, 65cm high x 70 across, Moroccan or Andalucian, large terracotta urn on a wire-work frame, age is unclear but is certainly very old, it has been suggested by a colleague that it could be as early as 1800, the wire-work base may be later but, again it is very difficult to be accurate on the dates. There is a little bit of surface scuffing at one point but this really does not detract from the overall beauty of the item. This has been used in the past as a planter and there is a hole drilled in the bottom for drainage. Again, it is has been suggested that the urn was originally used as a storage container, possibly oil, wine or dry grains. A fabulous addition to any patio or garden

Body holds 6 inlaid round high relief carved even toned celadon jade chih lung dragon plaques. Has three figural foo mask feet. Includes round wooden footed base. 19th century.
