A 1796 type infantry officer’s sword, shallow diamond section blade 32½”, etched with pre-1801 R Arms, Turk’s head, blank escutcheon and flourishes, plain steel hilt with double shellguard, knucklebow and facetted urn pommel (dark rust patina overall, grip AF, quillon missing); and a near relic vol infantry sword with stirrup hilt and langets.. An 18th century ivory silkwork panel worked with a gold metal thread stumpwork urn of roses iris tulips lily apple blossom and foliage on a ledge flanked above by two stumpwork angels and below by two oval sun motifs one worked with a cross a heart and initials H.I.S. the other a crown a heart crossed through with a dagger and initials M.R.A. The urn and one angel have applied metal angel head detail in rosewood frame 12.5ins x 1ft 4ins
Thomas Ogden, Halifax A mid 18th century mahogany and giltwood astrological longcase clock, the triple train movement with anchor escapement striking on bells, the arched brass face with urn and eagle cast spandrels, silvered Roman chapter ring with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, the arch with silvered and painted solar phase dial, centred by an engraved map of the northern hemisphere and with dials to either side marked “for sunrise, sunset” and with the signs of the zodiac, the hood with caddy top surmounted by a flaming urn finial, above a verre eglomise swan neck pediment with further finials, the arched glazed door flanked by fluted Corinthian columns, the case with crossbanded shaped trunk door flanked by fluted Corinthian quarter column angles, the base with moulded crossbanded panel on moulded plinth 67.5cm wide, 270cm high, 31cm deep
