The canvas tension is stiff and the picture is in plane. The paint layer has suffered from flaking and abrasion in the past, There are a few old, scattered losses and the edges of some age cracks are uneven and raised, but overall the paint layer is secure. There is extensive retouching across the surface covering wear. It has been well executed and is generally well matched to the original paint layer, although slightly darkened in the background. The varnish is clear, even and semi glossy. There are some scuffs to the varnish in the lower left right corner.

Two trays of assorted china to include: five Chambers period Llanelly Pottery plates, three graduated 'Persian Rose' plates marked Swansea Pottery to the base, one 'Damask Border' plate marked 'South Wales Pottery' to the reverse, and a Swansea ship plate impressed 'Dilwyn' to the base, together with an early 'willow pattern' plate with an impressed mark to the base, two small sugar basins one a Llanelly pottery florally decorated spongeware basin, together with a blue and white spongeware bowl, 19th Century blue and white transfer printed soap dish without lid, cream and tan trio with a vignette of Quay Street Ammanford, together with a matching cream jug. Further, there are five copper lustre ware items, three with Staffordshire clock faces, two of which are jugs, one urn-shaped vessel, and two jugs.
