A late 18th century Dutch elm marquetry side chair. The shell shaped tops above vase splat back with scrolling supports above serpentine drop in seat on cabriole legs and claw and ball feet, decorated throughout with inlay flowers, foliage, an urn and a bird of paradise, height 111cm.The chair has a very slight movement on the back, but is sturdy and useable.There are several veneer losses throughout, and a split is visible near the top of the splat.The legs have been strengthened with screws through the seat rail, there has been a repair to the top rail and there is a loss on one foot, and a rear spandrel, please see the extra images.

(1 box) Further Details: Crack to one gilt decorated single cup, some signs of restoration to red ground cup, otherwise just general wear.
John Wyke of Liverpool 8 day longcase clock with moon phase. A 13" brass dial with subsidiary seconds and calendar with the maker name above the top of the moon phase in the arch, female head mask spandrels with a two train movement striking on a bell. Contained in a lovely mahogany veneered case the trunk with plain quarter columns, the trunk door has matching butterfly veneers, as does type panel in the base of the case . Note John Wyke was a famous Liverpool clockmaker recorded as working from approximately 1760 until his death in 1787. Particularly noted for his eight day moon phase clocks of which this is one. Dimensions - 88" (to top of the central urn) x 19" x 9" Condition report - All appears to be in good condition aside from cracking to veneer on door and lower case along with some minor scuffs and marks It has not been run for a while so the movement will need to be cleaned but not fully tested. Weights pendulum, trunk door key and winding crank present.

A VERY GOOD PAIR OF PAINTED SHERATON SIDE CABINETS, FAUX SATINWOOD, painted with garlands, the front with central panel door flanked by cupboard doors painted with urn and flowers and classical figures, open ends with glass panels supported on a platform base. 6ft 4ins long, 1ft deep, 3ft high.
