A PAIR OF GEORGE III MAHOGANY DINING ROOM URNS AND PEDESTALS IN THE MANNER OF GILLOWS c.1775-80 each urn of campana shape, with lobed, fluted and ribbed decoration, the lid with a fir cone finial revealing a later lined interior, with gilt brass handles and gilded taps, the pedestals with crossbanded tops, the fronts with stained sycamore banding and inlaid with boxwood stringing, one with a hinged door with false drawer fronts revealing a vacant interior, the other with a top drawer to hold water to wash glasses, above a cupboard originally with a chamber pot and a base drawer for wine bottles, now lacking original linings (2) 182cm high, 50cm wide, 48cm deep PROVENANCE With Denys Wrey Ltd., 45 Sloane Street, London, S.W.1 and sold to G. A French second empire napoleon gilt brass and porcelain clock garniture circa 1850, gilt brass case, flanked by two porcelain columns with painted porcelain dial and painted porcelain plaque at front depicting two adults, female and male, the gilt case rising to a covered urn with acorn terminal . Above the claw feet a lighted torch and arrow sheath are portrayed, again in gilt brass along with decorative fixed ring handled to both sides. Standard brass french movement striking at half hours on a bell (count wheel strike) the movement marked ''medal winner'' A1 with a makers name of H. F. & CH Paris. A good french garniture fitted on wooden bases with a dome covering the clock. some damage present consisting of the following : 1. no dust cover to rear of lock movement. 2. One side ornament has cracked porcelain to the rear.

A 19th century Chinese carved ivory chess set, each of the 32 pieces intricately carved as figures standing above a pierced puzzle ball and raised on further carved circular bases, king 23cm high . Total weight 2603g. Red: the king and queen with removable flags, the queen lacking one, the king's headdress broken and glued poorly, the puzzle balls with very minor damage. The bishops in the form of sages holding ruyi scepters - one sceptre broken and poorly glued, the other sage with a chip sleeve. The knights in the form of mounted warriors - one with a broken spear and headdress, both with some fleabite chips. The rooks in the form of elephants and howdahs issuing an urn - both with damage/lacking to tops, both bases with repairs and fleabite chips. Pawns - all with fleatbite chips and most with slight damage to the puzzle balls, one pawn with a repaired stand, another pawn with a rifle end lacking. White: king and queen with flags - the king lacking a sword. Bishops - some staining. Knights - one lacking spear. Rooks - one vase broken but present, the puzzle ball on this example is also badly damaged. Pawns - six lacking swords and each pawn with fleabite chips.
