MILLS WIZARD FORTUNE TELLER. A visually attractive arcade machine manufactured by Mills in the 1920s-1930s time period. The earlier version of this machine was simplistic in nature with a wooden front but in order to attract prospective players Mills redesigned the front employing a fanciful, large aluminum cabinet with a wizard, a pedestal with a flaming urn and a bevy of decorative symbols, people, etc. A card on the front of the machine asks a series of questions and one would choose a question moving the lever about to said question. A coin deposited and the lever on the side engaged magically your answer would appear in the window. The front casting is enameled in various colors to attract potential players and the cabinet itself is constructed of wood with a light finish. The mechanism is simplistic in nature and originally sold with 6 different cards and interior wheels which could be easily changed by the operator/owner. Machine is completely original and still retains the directions for changing fortune reel on the inside of back door. A great coin-op piece that is highly sought after, especially today when collectors are looking for pieces that are in all original, untouched condition! SIZE: 14"" w x 18-1/2"" t. CONDITION: Very fine all original condition. A light cleaning to the painted aluminum front casting and the wooden finish would certainly enhance the overall appeal of this coin-op device. 1-14259
