An early 20th Century majolica jardiniere on stand in blues and greens, the urn with twin handles as mermaids 146 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Has a large area of damage and repair to the base. There has been a repair to the main pillar at the top of the acanthus leaves all the way round/join. There is some gapping between the next section. There is a large hairline fracture running down from the top of the pillar almost to the next section as well as a chip at the top. Areas of glaze missing throughout. All over crazing. There is a large crack in the green step base to the urn. In need of a good clean - see images for more details

Large Victorian silver trophy cup, William Hutton & Sons, London 1890, urn shape with flat cover, fluted finial, twin scrolled handles, engraved 'Championship Cup presented to The Magdalen Yard Tennis Club....', engraved with a tennis scene, fluted circular base, 36cm, 40 oz, on an ebonised hardwood plinth.Condition report:The dome of the cover has been compressed slightly so doesn't stand straight. The finial is chased slightly to resemble a tennis ball. The cup itself has good overall shape. Some dings to the spreading foot. Crisp engraving and marks are good. The tennis scene is a lively depiction. Hopper'110cm high overallCatalogue Note:Humphrey Hopper (b.1767) was the famed sculpture of the monument to General Hay in St Paul's Cathedral. He attended the Royal Academy schools and in 1803 was awarded a gold medal for his sculpture group 'Death of Meleager'. His work consists of a wide range of decorative classical figures in plaster, terracotta and composition, usually designed as decorative lighting supports. A set of four figures by Hopper was supplied to William, 2nd Baron Bolton for Hackwood Park and placed in alcoves in the Dining Room. Condition Report: There are some marks, scratches, knocks, chips, rubbing and abrasions consistent with age and use.Overall there is some rubbing including to the edges and protruding areas, revealing the underlying paler plaster.
