Instead of forming candlesticks from several solid cast sections, founders took to casting stems in two thin, vertical halves, which were then soldered together. This allowed for more intricate and decorative designs often modelled on examples in silver.Several very similar pairs were also sold at Christie's New York, 'Property from the Collection of Benjamin F.
