A late 19th Century German brass inlaid rosewood mantel clock, the arched brass dial with 7ins diameter silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals and chime/silent and Cambridge and Westminster indication dials to arch and matted dial centre to the eight day three train striking and quarter chiming on eight bells and a gong, contained in English style rosewood case, the arched top with stepped finial with pineapple finial and four urn and fruit finials, with gilt reeded columns to sides with Corinthian capitols and cast gilt brass frets to sides, on four heavy gilt brass bun feet, 30.25ins high (veneer to top of arched case lifting in places and veneer chipped to front panel and corners a little worn)
A early George III Scottish mahogany longcase clock by Robert Clidsdale of Edinburgh, the 14ins arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, matted dial centre with subsidiary seconds dial and cast mask, urn and leaf scroll pattern spandrels to the later eight day three train movement striking and quarter chiming on nine bells, contained in mahogany case with moulded scroll pediment, cast brass circular paterae and later fretted panels and with slender turned and fluted pillars to the hood, the shaped trunk door veneered in figured mahogany and crossbanded, flanked by fluted quarter columns, the plinth inlaid with bandings and with reeded cant corners, on bracket feet, 93ins high (brass dial and movement of later date) Note : Robert Clidsdale (Clydesdale) recorded working Edinburgh, Apprenticed 1738, working until 1786
