a rare percussion screw-plug breech-loading sporting rifle by Henry Tatham Junior, London proof marks, circa 1835 built on a 17th Century Turkish barrel, the barrel forged in a fine twist pattern with flared muzzle, decorated with a series of chiselled arabesque girdles with encrusted silver borders between raised silvered bands and decorative pellets, enriched with turquoise beads on the breech, cut with threaded loading-port beneath, the latter with screw-plug incorporating a ring for a locking-lever, fitted with percussion bolster with platinum plug, hooked breech, small blued back-sight, and inlaid with a broad line of gold at the rear, with finely engraved breech tang decorated with an elaborate trophy-of-arms, bolted detented lock signed 'Hy. Tatham Junr.', engraved with scrollwork carrying a dogs' head medallion and engraved with a further martial trophy at the rear, the latter incorporating a pair of shields bearing the flag of the Union and that of the Royal House of Orleans respectively, figured walnut full stock, chequered grip and fore-end, engraved steel mounts, the butt-plate and the flat-fronted trigger-guard each decorated with differing trophies, the trigger-plate formed with neo-classical urn finials, the barrel retained by three bolts on six pelta-shaped silver washers, with 18th Century silver escutcheon cast in relief, and original wooden ramrod 101.4cm., 40.125in barrel
a liegeois flintlock holster pistol, circa 1760 with sighted barrel formed in two stages with turned beaded girdle and breech moulding, chiselled in relief over its lower half with panels of scrollwork involving a demon mask, urn and profile head in the manner of Berain, all on a gilt ground, and lightly inscribed 'F. Govna', the tang, the lock and the mounts chiselled and gilt en suite, including 'birds' head' pommel decorated with a large demon mask and solid side-plate struck with a mark on the inside, T.L in a rectangle, figured walnut full stock carved in relief about the barrel tang and ramrod-pipe, the latter incorporating a demon mask, plain baluster ramrod-pipes, and iron-capped wooden ramrod ( the steel with early brazed repair, the fore-end expertly replaced towards the muzzle); and an embossed brass powder-flask, mid-19th Century, with patent nozzle of German silver (2). 43.2 by 20.3cm., 17 by 8in

A 19th century Chinese cabinet, the ocre ground with carved pierced gilt foliage, having a pendant cornice, the interior with a shelf and drawers, the doors and sides incorporating late 18th century lacquer panels depicting court scenes in summer palaces, decorative vases and elephant urn stands with foliage, the exterior of the doors with lacquer decorated cushion panels of birds and court scenes, the corners with reeded pilasters forming legs with pierced gilt foliage bracket friezes. 4ft. 1in. x 7ft. 4in.
