Keats (John) Lamia, Isabella, The Eve of St. Agnes, and other Poems, first edition, lacking half-title and advertisement leaves, some light foxing, later full polished calf, gilt, by Root and Son, g.e., [Ashley 3:15; Grolier/English 167; Hayward 233], 12mo, for Taylor and Hessey, 1820.⁂ A very good copy of Keats's last and most important book, which includes some of his best-loved poems - "Ode to a Nightengale," "Ode on a Grecian Urn," "Ode to Psyche," and "Ode to Melancholy." Lamia was published in July 1820, less than a year before his death from tuberculosis in Rome.
A pair of covered Dresden twin handled vases, c.1900, of urn form, decorated with floral sprays and fruiting vine borders, the twin handles in the form of horned Bacchus masks, the covers with gilt nut knops, inverting to form candle sconces, on flared fluted pedestals with square plinths, with blue AR Augustus Rex marks, 11½in. (29.25cm.) high, one cover repaired. (2)* Condition: One cover has glued repair to finial and base of candle sconce - also small chip and hairline to sconce. Very minor losses to foliate bocage on handles. Some hard yellow residue around joint of body and pedestal on one vase - it is not a glued repair and can be removed with care. Some light gilt wear. No other faults.
A Victorian walnut, marquetry, ebonised and ormolu mounted credenza, the moulded top over a marquetry frieze and central cupboard door with marquetry urn and swagged decoration, enclosing a single shelf, flanked by bowfronted glazed doors enclosing two shelves, on a chamfered plinth and ebonised toupie feet, 65¼ x 17in. (165.75 x 43.25cm.), 41¼in. (104.75cm.) high.
A pair of Victorian copper mounted brass standard lamps, converted from oil lamps, the urn form copper reservoirs with pierced brass mounts, on turned copper pedestals to Corinthian columns, on square stepped bases with copper laurel wreath mounts and paw feet, converted to electricity, 58in. An 18th century Channel Islands longcase clock by Nicolas Blondel, the eight day, bell strike movement with four turned knopped pillars and anchor escapement, numbered 'No.143' to the backplate, the arched brass dial with brass urn spandrels and convex arch roundel signed 'Nicolas Blondel A Guernesey', the dial with Roman chapter ring with outer Arabic minute track, matted centre with bevelled and cross hatch engraved date aperture and subsidiary seconds at noon, black pierced steel hands, in a good brass strung mahogany case with stepped arched hood with canted corners and later gilt brass finials, on a plinth base, 227.25cm. (89½in. ) high.
A George III silver swing handled sugar basket, John Roberts & Co., Sheffield 1775, in the Adam manner, with guilloche and rosette handle over an urn form body with pierced trellis and swags over stiff leaf decoration, on a pedestal base with ball feet, blue glass liner, 4½in. (11.5cm.) high, 4.6 tr. oz. silver weight.

Friedrich Goldscheider (1845 - 1897) Austrian Art Nouveau Large Terracotta Sculpture In The Form Of A Grecian Maiden, Signed E. Tell A large scale example circa 1890's in terracotta with painted umber and gilt finish. The whole in the form of a seated Grecian maiden draped in golden chiton, her hair elaborately coiled and tied with gold fillets. In her arms she cradles and urn, upon which perches a bird. Impressed artist signature 'E. Tell to bottom right. Impressed factory mark and numbered 3624 14 2, 'Fabrique En Autriche' to bottom centre. Very good condition, 35 inches in height, 15 inches at widest point.

Victorian Period Handpainted and Enamel Opaline Glass Urn Shaped Lidded Vase. Circa 1880's. The central painted panel with images of cherubs and applied decorated boarder (floral) which extends to base. 17.75 inches high. Some gilding rubbed otherwise all other aspects of excellent condition.
