A French Gilt Metal and Porcelain Mounted Striking Mantel Clock, circa 1880, pink porcelain urn finial, front painted porcelain panel depicting a lady with young boy, 3-1/4-inch dial with Roman numerals, twin barrel movement striking on a bell, raised upon a gilt wooden base, 36cm high 23.05.13, Case with gilding faded, porcelain with some rubbing to the gilding and enamel dots missing in part to the porcelain, front porcelain panel with a chip to the right hand side edge, dial with some small chips around winding holes, movement is slightly dirty and needs cleaning, gilt wooden base is worn and is damaged.

A late 19c French figural mantle clock in gilded spelter case depicting two cherubs flanking the central clock who are examining sprays of roses. They are seated on a raised base decorated with cast swags of flowers. The clock dial and the body of the urn surmounting it are similarly of blue porcelain and the clock is countwheel striking on a bell (pendulum missing). It stands on a shaped giltwood base, 18" long overall, the clock and base 17" tall.
