An early Victorian silk stitch sampler with a religious verse, signed Elizabeth Beardmore, aged 10, September 18th 1840, stitched with an urn of flowers, two flower sprays and floral borders, within original mahogany veneered cushion frame, 43 x 34cm. Condition Report: The measurement is the actual sampler size only. The frame has much missing veneer and looks to be original. Sampler has some staining to the right hand side, a couple of small holes top left hand side. Some stretching of the fabric.

Circular base, baluster form body with rocaille decoration in relief and engraved representing flowers, architectonic motifs, scrolls, shell and others floral motifs; the spout of profuse chiseled decoration with serpentine frieze; bell-shaped cover with pierced finial representing urn with festoons; carved rosewood handle with chiseled silver terminals representing shell motifs. Coimbra assay mark of Francisco de Assis Ferreira (reg.1789) (C-3) and I maker’s mark (unknown until now). A brown salt glazed stoneware jardinière and stand, mid-19th Century, the urn shaped body decorated in relief with two opposing panels of putti and fauns beneath a fruiting vine, flanked by masks, on a foliate moulded quatrefoil base surmounted by rams masks and hoof feet, impressed anchor mark to interior, height approx 96cm (faults and restoration).

A pair of late 19th Century French gilt metal and bleu celeste porcelain mounted vases in the Sèvres manner, the panels painted with shepherd and shepherdess with opposing panels of baskets and flowers, each with urn finial and foliate scroll handles to a waisted wrythen pedestal on a shaped base, each 23 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Some light rubbing to the giltwork throughout. General wear. One of the lids is very badly crazed to blue decoration, this crazing is very deep to the point of cracking. The finial on the lid has been broken off and reglued crudely. The vase dirty with some rubbing to the decoration and some deeper scratches across the background where the boy is sitting. Around the neck of the vase there are pieces that have broken off and have fallen in to the vase (not know if all areas are present). The other lid is in similar condition except that the blue is flaking off as it is so cracked / crazed. Both vase may well have been repainted quite crudely and this is now flaking away very badly on one and slightly on the other although cracked is not yet coming away. The gilding on finial is chipped. Underside of lid has differences in the white colour indicating that it has probably had some restoration and repair. The body slightly rubbed with surface scratches, wear to gilding in some areas. Inner rim has pieces flaking off.
A late 19th Century French gilt metal and marble cased three piece clock garniture, the drum cased enamelled dial with Roman and Arabic numerals decorated with floral garlands, with bird on branch surmount, raised on a square base with turned feet, 14 cm high, together with a pair of matching candlesticks, each with urn shaped sconce with bunch of grapes finial cover, raised on a fluted pedestal on a square base, 15 cm high (3) CONDITION REPORTS Replaced lever platform (has been replaced with a high quality Swiss one).
