A HANDSOME PAIR OF VICTORIAN FOUR-LIGHT SILVER CANDELABRA IN THE ADAM REVIVAL TASTE, Hawksworth Eyre & Co. Ltd, London 1889, each with urn-form candle cups decorated with swags and with beaded detachable drip pans on reeded scrolling arms, fitted on a (detachable) stick with urn-form cup over a square section tapering stem chased in relief with masks and pendant foliage, raised on a square base chased with stiff leaves and urns, weighted. Height 45.5cmAll the marks match. The marks to the edge of the base of one are rubbed but legible. The marks to the base of the other are clearer. One side of one base with a few small dents. The condition is generally very good.

Clear and well-struck marks. In very good condition commensurate with age and use.
AN ENGLISH RAPIER, CIRCA 1630 with tapering blade formed in two stages, the upper portion of flattened diamond-section and the lower fullered and with a portrait medallion (rubbed), chiselled iron hilt (one small early repair) comprising a pair of straight quillons with bud-shaped finials, knuckle-guard interrupted by a central moulding en suite with the quillons, a scrolling frontal bar joined to the outer ring-guard, the latter decorated with a central bouquet in an urn, urn-shaped pommel with further flowers, decorated throughout with fruit, scrolls and delicate fluting (worn, grip missing) 86.8 cm; 34 1/4 in blade
A SILVER-GILT-HILTED SMALL-SWORD, LONDON, 1788, MARK OF WILLIAM KINMAN with tapering hollow-triangular blade (areas of rust), silver-gilt hilt comprising oval shell-guard fitted on the inside with a fluted flowerhead washer within a framework surrounded by sprays of foliage against a hatched ground, a pair of straight quillons with drooping globular terminals, knuckle-guard with a central writhen moulding, urn-shaped finial and later wooden grip bound with plaited wire between silver-gilt collars, and in untouched condition 81.4 cm; 32 in blade William Kinman was born in 1728 and is recorded as a prominent silver hilt maker and also a founding member of the Founders' Company of London. A sword with a related hilt is preserved in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. See Southwick 2001, pp.159-160 and p. 292, plate 82.
