Building on the success of his father and grandfather he won a gold medal at the 1878 Paris Great Exhibition and was honoured with the Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 1883. A very similar pair of candlesticks with lapis mounts to the base were sold at Sotheby's New York, European Decorative Arts, 13th April 2016 Lot 546 $15,000Another pair, with 8 light candelabra and with central signed clock were sold at Sotheby's New York, 16th November 2011, lot 298 $74,500 Condition Report: Wear, marks, knocks and scratches as per age, handling, use, and cleaning. There is a small knock to left flank of the right hand figure (as you look at the two). Some surface scuffs to gilding and wear to more exposed areas of gilding. Wax and dirt deposits throughout. One screw missing to reverse of left hand figure scrolling 'tail'. Slight colour variance to junction point of base of one branch with fitment suggesting it has had remedial small repair. Branches are a little off true vertical from use.No signs of electrification. Lot 656

George III gold and enamel mourning ring with a double-sided revolving bezel, one side with a glazed compartment of hair surmounted with a diamond initial 'J' within enamel frame, the reverse depicting a classical urn, with seed pearl shoulders on reeded gold shank, engraved 'Mary Judd, ob. 22 Aug 1802, at 70', ring size approximately N½-O.Good condition commensurate with age, enamel is perfect, setting is in good condition with swivel fitting that works well. Thre rectangular bezel measures approximately 14.7mm x 11mm. Four small seed pearls missing. The glass is slightly scuffed along the edge, only visible when viewed with a loupe. Not hallmarked and not tested but presumably 9ct gold. Weighs approximately 4.2 grams.

Lot 1092

19th century French porcelain and gilt mounted mantel clock under a glass dome. The clock with Sèvres-style porcelain dial and urn surmount, the gilt metal case on a giltwood and gesso plinth, 43cm, under a glass dome with ebonised plinth, overall 56cm. Key and pendulum present.General overall condition very good, movement is clean and free and appears to be in working order, athough we have not had it running, dial is good, no chips or cracks to enamel. Case is very good, gilding is very clean, shiny in places, top of urn is loose and not on straight, plinth is worn and chipped in places, dome is good, no cracks or chips.

Large late 19th century French ormolu cartel clock, the movement striking on a bell, the circular 8" brass dial with enamel chapters, the ornate ormolu case surmounted by an urn, cast foliage, the base terminating with classical mask a shell, with key and pendulum, overall 89cm high.General overall condition good, movement is relatively clean and appears to be in working order, dial is good, no chips to enamel.
