Kashan Prayer Rug Central Iran, circa 1930 The deep indigo field with an urn issuing flowers above a floral medallion and lamp framed by upper spandrels and madder borders of flowers and vines flanked by carnation guard stripes, 212cm by 132cm. One end with fringes fraying. One end with minor losses into outer plain blue guard stripe. One selvedge complete, one with slight wear to one section of binding cords (approx 12cm) and some curling/folding. Pile is close-clipped and in good/fair condition for its age.
