A George III red japanned and gilt decorated table clock by John Taylor of London, the 8ins arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals and strike/silent dial to arch to the eight day three train movement with verge escapement, striking and quarter chiming on nine bells, with engraved backplate, contained in japanned case with inverted bell shaped top, gilt brass bust and urn finials to top, gilt brass floral mounts to the cant corners and with cast side panels of leaf scroll form, 21.5ins high (case re-japanned at later date) Note : Possibly John Taylor, recorded working Gloucester Street, London, circa 1780 Provenance : Sir Philip and Lady Haldin, formerly of Lympne Place, Lympne, Hythe, Kent and thence by family descent

Clarice Cliff plates with chips and crazing and one cracked, saucer with frits, wear and crazing, bowl with large cracks and wear. Worcester cup with fault/hairline crack (as has a very dull sound when tapped) & wear, saucer with frits and crazing. Grays sifter with crazing and wear and the 'bung' appears to have been pushed inside the sifter. Worcester shallow dish with wear, crazing, scratches, and a dull sound when tapped so probably fault/hairline. Figures with some chips and losses.
