A Japanese hardwood shodhana on stand, 19th century, with an arrangement of shelves, each with a pierced foliate decorated gallery, the pair of gilt lacquered and mother of pearl decorated bow front sliding doors each with a bone carved figure, the drawer similarly decorated with a bird and flowers, the stand with a foliate carved frieze, with black painted calligraphy signature in the top left corner, height 186.5cm, width 104cm, depth 33.5cm. (See illustration) Condition report: The base appears to be original to the piece. Good condition with some small signs of use and minor chips to wood.

Condition report: Table in very good condition. Chairs scuffed on top rail on two chairs. Makers mark on underneath of table. A Regency mahogany sideboard, possibly Irish, with a raised back and central tablet carved with a lion mask and swags, repeated to the frieze, flanked by two drawers and two bow fronted cellarette drawers, ebony line border inlays and on twist carved and reeded column legs 109 x 230 x 75cm (43 x 90 x 29in) One of the small cupboards to the raised back is stuck and at an awkward angle, refusing to open. There is evidence of a brass galleried back.

Joseph Sound - An 18th century silver pair cased pocket watch, the outer casing, London 1778, inset with three watch papers, two for Furley watchmaker of Huntingdon, and one for Gatward watch & clock maker of Huntingdon, the sprung lid activated via a push button, the open faced pocket watch, London 1778, with white dial, black Roman numerals and Arabic five minute indicators, front loading key wound fusée movement ornately engraved and signed 'Jos Sound London 3636' with pierced and engraved balance cock, key attached to the pendant bow via a split ring Other Notes: In the early to mid-18th century, it was common for watches to be housed in "pair cases". A pair-cased watch has an inner case which held the movement, and an outer case which enclosed and protected the inner case. Since the inner case was not dust-proof because of the key-holes, an outer case provided additional protection from dust and dirt.

A George III Silver Mounted Yeomanry Sword, the 82cm plain single edge curved steel blade double edged for the last 18cm, with broad fuller, the silver spadroon type hilt with bowed pierced guard, angular knuckle bow with double bars, one worked as stylised grenades, with downswept disc quillon and ribbed ivory grip, with London hallmarks, possibly by Joseph Biggs, lacks scabbard, on a custom made wood standHilt fittings in good order, but there is a split to one side of the ivory grip. Grey patching and pitting to the plain blade.
