Guillaume dated 4th July 2018, no. 18489
An early Percussion Pistol, possibly converted from a flint-lock and having engraved scroll decoration to the side plates and to the hammer, checkered Walnut butt with white metal oval inset. The over-cleaned octagonal barrel 8" long having a bore of 16 mm./5/8" approx. Wooden ram-rod present. 14 1/8" long overall. Crack to stock and wooden fore-end. An old repair has been effected by the addition of a metal plate beneath the lock/action. To the trigger guard is a trade-mark or heraldic crest depicting a long-bow, a quiver of arrows, a curled hunting horn, a wolf's head and a sprig of foliage. To the top of the barrel appears to be the word "Liverpool" but no makers name is visible.
