Five late 18th/early 19th century portrait miniatures on ivory including; a portrait of a military officer in scarlet uniform with sky background, 6cm high; a portrait of a French man wearing tricolour cravat, in a case with glazed woven hair to the reverse, 6.5cm high; a small portrait of a gentleman with blue coat and white lapels with gilt braiding, in an enamel decorated frame, 4cm high; a portrait of a woman with white shift dress and frame with glazed reverse, with seed pearl and woven hair bow, 7.5cm; a portrait in the manner of Samuel Shelley of a woman with white bandeau to hair, glazed woven hair to reverse, 7cm high - all mounted on a common square mahogany board. Four English porcelain figures of putti c.1760, two Bow and variously modelled holding a basket of flowers and a small dog, two Derby and holding a garland or a basket of flowers, and a Continental porcelain putto standing before flowering bocage, gold anchor mark to the latter, some damages, 13.2cm max. A sapphire and diamond pendant, yellow and white metal floral spray with sapphires (9), individually raised claw set and diamonds set into the bow and leaf sprays,35mm, on a 9 carat white gold 1mm foxtail link chain, 48cm long, gross weight approximately 12gms. Pendant has been converted from a brooch.
A Bow bell-shaped mug c.1770, painted in polychrome enamels with colourful birds, a large moth and a grasshopper, and a Bristol coffee cup painted with three Chinese figures standing in a garden and holding various attributes, a red chain border to the interior rim, the mug with a stained crack, 9cm max. (2)
Two Japanese blue and white teabowls late 17th century, painted in the manner of Frederik van Frytom, with two figures standing guard in a harbour, the interiors with undulating blue rims. (2) Van Frytom (1632-1702) was a Dutch Delft artist whose style was copied by Arita potters in the late 17th century. In turn, these Japanese imitations were copied by the Chinese and also by workmen at Bow. Cf. A. Vecht, Frederik van Frytom, p.40 for the original source; also Anton Gabszewicz and Geoffrey Freeman, Bow Porcelain, p.63 for the Chinese and the Bow counterparts. An early 20th century mahogany bow front sideboard in the George III style, the stage back with lacquered brass gallery above sliding stage doors, over a central frieze drawer and pair of cupboard doors flanked by cupboard doors, raised on six tapered square supports with spade feet, 180.5cm wide x 159cm high x 70.5cm deep.
An Edwardian mahogany, inlaid and decorated display cabinet:, of shaped and bow front outline, crossbanded in satinwood and bordered with boxwood lines, having a shaped and moulded ledge back painted with ribbon tied floral garlands and with floral foliate frieze, enclosed by a central glazed panel door, flanked by concave sides each with an oval painted panel depicting a female figure gathering flowers, surmounted by ribbon tied floral garlands, on square tapered legs, united by an undertier, terminating in spade feet, 110cm (3ft 7 1/4in) wide.
An Edwardian mahogany and floral marquetry corner display cabinet:, decorated with bouquets, ribbon tied garlands and trailing floral foliate stems, the upper part with a swan neck broken pediment and moulded dentil cornice, enclosed by an astragal glazed panel door, the bow fronted stand with two dummy drawers on square tapered legs, united by a triangular undertier, 67.5cm (2ft 2 1/2in) across, 191cm (6ft 3in) high.
An early 19th Century Dutch mahogany and floral marquetry bow fronted standing corner cupboard:, in two parts, decorated with wide bands of trailing floral foliage within chequer feather strung lines, the upper part with a stepped pediment, having fixed shelves enclosed by a door above and below, decorated with birds amidst flowers and foliage and an urn of radiating flowers and foliage, raised on block feet, approximately 89cm (2ft 11in) across, 213cm (7ft) high.
A Bow blue and white sauceboat: with scroll handle and moulded with cartouches and floral sprays, painted with oriental figures, one in a garden with a jardiniere of flowers, the other wearing a plumed hat by a pavilion, the interior with peony sprays, circa 1765-68, 18 cm wide [handle repaired].
